OPERATIONS

The Operations Resource Team was established to ensure the long term success and sustainability of the StMMM through effective management of the financial affairs of the StMMM, as well as the enhanced organization and efficient administration of key MM activities including: 

  • Saturday morning meetings
  • Quarterly Core Meetings
  • Captain’s Meetings
  • Social Events sponsored by the StMMM
 
Management of StMMM Finances
We attempt to manage the StMMM as a self-funded organization.  To date, its main source of revenue has been the weekly good will offerings members provide during Saturday morning meetings.  To date, its expenses have been relatively nominal and include payments for:  breakfasts provided at weekly meetings; gifts for clergy or religious upon important occasions; maintenance of StMMM website and other technology resources; purchasing liturgical books during Advent and Lent; and the design and printing of StMMM business cards. We continually evaluate the need to pursue alternative sources of revenue to fulfill the StMMM mission. 

Managing Saturday Morning Meetings
The Saturday morning meetings, small and large group discussions in particular, are the heart and soul of the StMMM.  The first priority of the Operations Resource Team with regard to these meetings is to preserve vibrant small group discussion while ensuring appropriate socializing and fraternity among MM members. The Operations Resource Team must continually examine the administration and structure of Saturday morning meetings to ensure meetings and other StMMM activities proceed smoothly.  Tasks related to Saturday meetings include: creating name tags, table assignments, announcements, ordering coffee and food, ensuring coffee is picked up and delivered timely, opening and closing the Parish hall, collecting and depositing weekly offerings, maintaining attendance sheets, recording weekly challenges/take-aways and prayer intentions, updating Emcee guidelines as necessary, and cleaning up the Parish Hall after meetings.

Managing Core and Captains’ Meetings
StMMM activities are managed through consistent scheduling and orderly administration of Core and Captains’ meetings.  The Operations Resource Team ensures meetings are scheduled and calendared, meeting space is reserved, chairpersons are identified, agendas are prepared, and notes/minutes of meetings are recorded.  The Operations Resource Team collaborates with other Resource Teams as necessary to achieve these objectives. 

Organizing StMMM Social Events
The StMMM exists to foster enhanced relationships among the men, spouses, and families of our Parish, with the ultimate aim of promoting a greater sense of parish community.  The Operations Resource Team is tasked with organizing a sufficient number of social activities to accomplish this goal. Specific objectives include: identifying and scheduling a StMMM summer picnic, Christmas social, and spring social.  The Operations Resource team organizes subcommittees for each social to focus on: publicity, purchase of any items, set up, hosting (including bar tenders, food servers, etc.) and clean up.
